But if you were to research further and find another keyword phrase such as internet marketing expert seo you would find that you now only have 8,890,000 so you have eliminated over 700,000,000 competing web sites by just adding a few more keywords.
I still would not compete in this market it was just an example of how you can eliminate competition to give your web site a fighting chance.
I can hear you now ! And your right you will have less traffic because of the keyword but you need to start small and use organic seo techniques to bring traffic to your site. Imagine if you optimized all your sites pages for specific keywords.
You might end up with 1000's of visitors to your web site with all your optimized pages where as if you go for the throat at the start you will be just another internet statistic.
The next step of your organic seo is to optimize your title tags for the search engines, so using the example above I would have something like;

I found this to work very well with MSN and also Yahoo, but this alone is not enough you must have your keyword phrase in your description tag I try to repeat the Phrase at least twice.
